This game will help your child to practise adding and subtracting small numbers. A lot of arithmetic will be required in the course of playing this game, and all of the sums will be done mentally. This is very good for developing mental mathematical skills.
MYSTERY CARDS - you will need of pack of cards from which the face cards have been removed.
- place the cards in a pile, face down.
- take three cards but do not show them to your partner
- add up their values and say the answer out loud
- remove one card and place it, face down on the table
- show the two remaining cards to ypour partner. They must guess what the missing card is. If they are rights, they can take three cards and test you.
- If you are really daring, try using four cards with two cards face down on the table.
